Jayson Blair

The plagisrism performed by Jayson Blair in The New York Times was very immoral. After so many years of being a good reporter, and at the peak of his career, he was found guilty of plagirism and fabricating stories. Jayson took portions of different articles from different regions around the United States of America and used them as his own. He gathered info such as interviews, pictures, and stories that were not his own work, spiced them up a little, and printed them in his written articles. Taking other people's credit, and fabricating stories in the media is unnacceptable. He was rightfully punished by being fired, but he should have also been sued. Jayson Blair got away with his actions for so long, but it only takes one mistake to get caught. Before he started plagirising, he was a good reporter. Some people say he hit a massive writing block, some people say he got lazy, but neither one is an excuse for stealing. Other people deserved his job, and other people deserved the attention his articles received. This was wrong on many accounts.

Blogging Stress

The stress about the blogging system for class was minimal for me. I am pretty familiar with technology and how it works, so when Ms. Brogdon announced that we would be using close to no paper and pencil for assignments, it relieved me. The first problem I had with the blogs was that I had to make two because I could not get into my first one. After going through the process of making one, I could not gain access to it again. I did however, make another one and it seems to be working fine. The other small problem occured when I took the time to follow all of the blogs, only for some of them to be deleted, and others that didn't apply to me. Figuring out which blogs were intended for my class and linking my blog to them was not hard, but I had to put some work into it. Other than that, I was one of the first to really get my blog linked with the others and running. It was not stressful, and I definitely like this idea better than paper and pencil writing.

Ponder - Powerful public speakers leave their audiences with many thoughts to ponder.
Sscrutinize - Many people are offended when others scrutinize their work.

Gaining from the Class

In this class, we have been discussing the english language, specifically verbs. The class is based around writing, but with me not being a very good writer, I am expecting to gain a better understanding of the english language, more experience with writing, and new techniques to help me with writing. So far, I have been active in class, mainly because I know after the class, my writing skills will have improved if I have been working hard in the class. This class is also helping me learn how to organize and manage an online blog.
